God loves the World.

And so do we.

Imagine that following your dream involves leaving your family and friends and traveling to the other side of the world to study for two to five years. You arrive in a foreign culture that has expressions and customs you don’t understand. You don’t know whom you can trust or which areas are safe. You bring with you only the clothes and small items you can pack in 2 large suitcases plus a backpack. Your apartment is totally empty. You need a bed, food, and other furnishings. There is not much public transportation, so you need to find rides to go shopping and get everything set up. You don’t know anyone, so you don’t know whom to call.

This is why AIM-Hattiesburg was formed: to recruit and coordinate volunteers from the campus and local churches to work together to welcome and befriend the International Students God brings to our community, and to let them know that God loves them and they are not alone here. Join our Facebook group to get involved in helping and befriending International Students in Hattiesburg. https://www.facebook.com/groups/A.I.M.Hattiesburg

AIM-Hattiesburg manages and supports the “iFriends” Facebook groups where International Students can connect with each other and with trusted community people who care about them and are ready to help them get settled and flourish here. Members of AIM may join iFriends groups and interact directly with the students in supportive ways.
